Cricket - Intuition and the Power of Belief
There is a lot of myth and folklore when it comes to crickets. One myth in which I enjoy is that if a cricket is in your house, it is considered to be ‘good’ luck. To remove or kill the cricket brought bad fortune to the homeowners. For the cricket also has connections to happiness and good cheer, and this is noted to say that it protects the homes from ‘bad’ spirits. Crickets have many similar references to grasshoppers but they also have their own symbology as well. The cricket found in North America is usually black in colour, and is mostly a nocturnal insect. This connects them to the dreamtime, intuition and psychic abilities. Their long antennas give them a heightened sense of sensitivity, which reminds us to trust our intuition or higher knowledge and guidance. It is time to trust in what you have always believed. Most crickets live on the ground, which reminds those who use their intuition and psychic abilities to remain grounded in your thoughts and perceptions. If a cricket has appeared remember to stay balanced and grounded. The cricket is also noted for it’s song. The male cricket rubs it’s hind legs together. This call is connected to mating, so the crickets song is reminding us of happiness in relationships. When you hear the song of a cricket it is a time to tap into the happiness of life. The belief we have held strong to is about to become a reality. They sing a song of success and pleasure.
