Venus’s Journey through the Universe in 2010

In the January 2010 Newsletter we discussed the numerology of 2010. If you recall, the numerology of 2010 is the number three and it is connected to The Empress in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. In the Tarot, The Empress is ruled by the planet Venus, so let’s check out what the Goddess of Love and Beauty is doing in 2010!

In mythology Venus is the Goddess of Love and Beauty. Astrologically speaking she is connected to two signs in the zodiac, Taurus and Libra. In the zodiac sign of Taurus we are on the search for personal values and beliefs and in the sign of Libra, we are on the search for a perfect partner.

As the ruler of Taurus, Venus vibrates to a mundane and instinctual ruler-ship. She is the principle of attraction and has strong physical magnetism. While in Taurus, Venus prefers to attract, and not pursue, sexually aggressive relationships, allowing the power of the feminine within to lure her perfect mate. She uses creative instincts as lures.

Venuses ruler-ships in a man’s life (or chart), allows the male to project their perfect image of the goddess onto the women in their lives, being taken whole by the dynamic of her outer beauty, by placing value on her external features. The evolved male may see the qualities of her inner nature, but only through rose-coloured glasses, having the illusion of Love blur his vision. The downside is that the man will not see her completely as she is, but as the projected image of his own internal desire.

The goddess places a focus upon the physical reality and the sensuality given and received on a physical level, through physical touch. Aside from desire of attraction, the physical lures are that of external beauty, a tool many woman use today to lavish in the attention of the opposite sex. External beauty is a tool to measure one’s self-worth in the eyes of another, “If I am desirable, then that is where I place my value, upon a belief that beauty can win me what I desire to attract”. This is not a bad thing, as there is a belief that if you look good, you feel good!

If you look to the younger generations of today, most of the feminine teenagers (as well as many older women) are constantly spending countless hours in front of the mirror adorning themselves as objects of beauty. The media uses this as a tool to allow us to believe that we require specific products or services in order to attract what they believe we desire.

For centuries women (and now even men) spend countless hours styling their hair with products and adorning the skin in lotions and makeup. Adding accessories like jewelry as decorations, spraying on perfume, and choosing specific styles of clothing (or lack of clothing) to the body to show the desired shape of passion. Venus allows us all to pay attention to detail, and use products that assist us in luring the opposite sex through the unconscious mechanism of desire. Fragrance for example will assist with attracting someone on an unconscious level. Scents are associated to memory, and if you smell something familiar or attractive it will trigger unconscious behaviors that allow us to either attract or repel our associated desire. Our thoughts and feelings, associated to the specific scent, program within the mind different reactions and responses which will determine if we are going to attract or repel the desire itself. Keep in mind that the vanity of Venus is heightened if she is found in the first house (of self), or in the signs of Aries or Leo. The unconscious creative lures are stronger when in she is in the sign of Pisces (where she is exalted). As she uses her feminine wilds, through gestures and glances on the most subtle of levels, speaking to the unconscious mind stimulating the desires of the physical body.

Aside from the attraction factor, Venus’s ruler-ship in the sign of Libra, takes precedence after the union is complete, anchoring the joining together of the two people into one union. It is at this time that her role changes from the luring maiden goddess, to the mother goddess and creates a reality of union. After the union comes the belief that a family shall make you whole and the goddess intentions move into the next level of evolution or onto the next desire. Focusing upon the partnership and the potential for creation, she taps into her creative feminine abilities and becomes emerged into the dreams of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The Venus archetype desires to share in union with another, and to harmoniously find the right partner that stimulates her every whim.

As a goddess of Earth she rules over the natural beauty and essence of the flowers and wild animals. As the Goddess of the Air she rules over the thoughts of the next attainable desire or union.

Attraction Factor in Relationships: Any odd or unconventional relationship is highlighted now. Socializing with friends or people of like mindedness may also be a theme that you desire.

Attraction Factor in Life: Attracting freedom is the key theme to this phase. Make sure you have defined your definition of the type of freedom that you desire. Be open to receiving and giving some stimulated intellectual conversations that may seem out of the ordinary.

Attraction Factor in Relationships: Now is a time for relationships in which you can merge and be at one with another. As well as sharing in past times that stimulates your desire to be inspired. There may be a tendency to have some alone time.

Attraction Factor in Life: Being at one with the Universe. Enjoying creative pursuits that are aesthetically pleasing, such as art or music. It is now that you are working with aligning to your soul’s vibrations and attracting what you may or may not desire on an unconscious level.

Spending for the sake of desire and not need. Aggressive attitudes will be shown to you if you need to turn down your own aggressive drives. Attraction Factor in Life: Focusing on others values systems, including interactions with the government, (taxes) and insurances. Transforming desires within the self, releasing that which does not serve your path. Focusing energy on the transformation that is required within the self to then move forward with wholeness.

Additionally we have a Venus retrograde in 2010, where our attraction factor turns inward, allowing us to process the transformation that is required within our relationships and values systems.

As Venus retrogrades we are given the opportunity to back track in life as we work through the intense demands that are placed on us by others, which in turn really means that we attracted this intensity because of a need to explore it at another level of consciousness. There is a need to establish new lines of communication when dealing with others. Growth that is attained at this level requires the continual development of interchanging feeling and ideas, and communication is the essential for success. If one is not communicating effectively the lines of communication and their emotional responses to that communication will become highlighted. Use your lines of communication wisely.

The retrograde motion continues, we find ourselves revisiting the sign of Libra in all of our one to one relationships needs, including contractual negotiations with others that support our inner journey into the darkness (with a goal of finding the light within).

As Venus moves direct the goal shifts into awareness of the spiritual forces that surround and assist us in life. One may come to realize that you are not alone and there are many others who are experiencing the same dynamic as you are on a personal and interpersonal level. Trust that there is a community working for your better interests even if you don’t know who they are, for all of humanity on some level is being asked to trust more in the invisible forces that are at work.

Venus enters the sign of Scorpio on Nov 29 2010 at 7:33 am – from now until next year (2011)

Venus continues to implement the changes necessary to aid us in transformational growth. The law of attraction in action continues at this time, so be aware of what is transpiring within you after her retrograde journey is complete as she reenters this sign. If you have found that the lines of communication have been repaired then all is well. If the lines of communication were not successfully repaired, then you may find your transformational journey to be somewhat irritating and intense.
