They can be harmonious or inharmonious. They are used to guide us to grow and enlighten our path. There are 2 classes of aspects, Major and Minor. The Major Aspects are known as Conjunction, Sextile, Square, Trine, and Opposition. The Minor Aspects are known as Inconjunct or Quincunx, Semi-Sextile, Semi-Square, Novile, Quintile, Bi-Quintile, Sesquiquadrat, Septile, Vigintile, and Decile. Aspects - Applying (A) or Separating (S)Aspects should to be considered as to whether they are applying or separating. It is said that an applying aspect is stronger then a separating one. An applying aspect is when two planets are coming together. A separating aspect is when the faster planet is pulling away from the slower planet. The orb for the aspect may be larger for the aspect when it is in an applying motion. When writing astrological configurations the letter 'A' is used to define an Appling aspect and the letter 'S' for a Separating aspect. OrbsOrbs are the distance of allowance outside of the degree of the aspect. Some astrologer give certain planets a larger orb or 10 degrees for certain planets or points. The planets for concerning larger orbs are, the Sun and the Moon. Some astrologers also use the Ascendant with a larger orb when pertaining to the Sun or Moon. Or even the planet Pluto and it's effects when transiting have a long term effect.
