Major Aspects In AstrologyConjunction, Sextile, Square, Trine, and Opposition.All astrologers use major aspects when understanding an individual in a Natal Chart, as these aspects may lend to the personality of an individual as a strength or weakness (or both). They are also used in Transit, progressed, solar arch or solar return charts as well, basically they are used in all types of astrology.. When used in Natal Charts the typical orb for each planet or point in the chart is 7 Degrees. This means that when an astrologer looks to the aspect of the planet, it can have a range of 0 to 7 degrees in difference. Some astrologers believe that the orbs for the Ascendant, Sun and Moon should allow for 10 degrees. This choice is up to each astrologer when casting charts and understanding aspects. One thing to keep in mind is the smaller the orb, the more definite the aspect. There are only 5 major aspects and they are the... Conjunction, Sextile, Square, Trine, and Opposition.
