The Third House

The third house in the natal chart refers to a house of communication.  It is here that we establish our communication patterns in life, with those who are close to us such as siblings or neighbours.  Not just verbal communication but any type of personal communications, such as reading or writing.  This house also taps into our conscious rational mind and how it may operate on an intellectual level, like how we learn within our early educational years in school.

The natural rulership of the third house are: the Sign of Gemini – The planet Mercury.  The 3rd House is opposite the 9th House on the astrological wheel.
