Elements in Astrology

Fire, Earth, Air & Water Signs & Vibrations

If we take the signs in the Zodiac and break them into groups of with certain common temperament characteristics we get a group called the Elements or Triplicity.

There are many different types of elements but the ones that concern us with astrology are; Fire, Earth, Air and Water.

Fire Element

Fire is the 1^st group of elements. The Element of Fire is known as the Force of Spirit and it can also represent energy. The signs in this group are; Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. These signs have similarities such as fiery, enthusiastic, spontaneous, self-sufficient, romantic and ardent.

Fire Positive Keywords: creative expression, inspires others, initiates, leadership

Fire Negative Keywords: selfish, egotistical, opportunistic, leaps before looking.

Earth Element

Earth is the 2^nd group of Elements. The Element of Earth is known as the Force of Form or Body, giving us sustenance. The signs in this group are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. The similarities within these signs are earthy, dependable, conservative and sensual.

Earth Positive Keywords: productive, practical, material gain, loyalty, determination

Earth Negative Keywords: materialistic, demanding, controlling, greedy, fearful

Air Element

Air is the 3rd group of Elements. The Element of Air is known as the Force of Thought. The signs that fall into this group are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. The similarities within these signs are intellectual, communicators, logical, idealistic and objective.

Air Positive Keywords: co-operative, inventive, alert, sociable ,balanced judgment

Air Negative Keywords: superficial, intuitive, hyperactive, aloof, scattered

Water Element

Water is the 4^th group of Elements. The Element of Water is known as the Force of Emotion. The signs that fall into this group are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. The similarities within this group are emotional, sustaining, responsive and deep.

Water Positive Keywords: compassion, sensitivity, psychic, artistic, intuitive, helpful

Water Negative Keywords: self-indulgent, exaggeration, fantasizes, controlling, hysterical
