What is an Aura?
According to Webster’s Dictionary and Aura is: 1. an invisible emanation or vapor, as the aroma of flowers 2. a particular atmosphere or quality that seems to arise from and surround a person or thing [enveloped in an aura of grandeur] 3. a warning sensation that precedes a seizure or other neurological disorder. Now the Aura that I am drawing understanding to is the particular atmosphere or quality that seems to arise from and surround a person or thing. For most people the aura is invisible but to others it is visible. An Aura that surrounds a human body is composed of seven known layers, and 2 unknown layers. Many people may or may not understand the dynamic of energy and how it really influences our existence. But through understanding the dynamic of the Aura, your intuitive perspective of understanding may increase. Different Layers Found within the AuraThe First layer is closest to the human body is called the ‘Etheric Body’ it stands approximately 2 inches from the human form. This layer is composed of tiny energy lines or an energy matrix. It has the same structure as the physical body including organs. This is the layer that controls the dynamic of energy through the physical body. For it is a higher vibration of the physical body and it reflects what we believe ourselves to be in the physical world. It connects us with our beliefs around pleasure and pain and its functions as a guide for our entire energy system. This layer is in constant motion and it’s color ranges from a light blue to gray. The more sensitive a person the more blue that is in this layer, for people who are more athletic the color shifts to a grayer tone. This is the most visible of the Aura. It is easiest to see this layer when someone is standing up against a white or black background. The Second layer of the Aura extends one to three inches from the body. This layer is called the ‘Emotional Body’ and it is associated with feelings. It has more of a fluid quality to it and it does NOT duplicate the Etheric or physical body. This body does not stand alone and it interacts with the denser bodies that it surrounds. It is a multicolored body which can contain all the colors of the rainbow. Those colors shift from brilliant clear hues to darker muddier ones depending on the clarity or confusion of the feeling the person is experiencing at the time. The clearer the emotion (i.e.…joy or love) the more brilliant the color. If a person is experiencing confusion or doubt then the color is more of a muddy consistency. The Third layer of the Aura is known as the ‘Mental Body’. This layer extends three to eight inches from the body, beyond the emotional body. It is composed of tiny fibers that are connected to thoughts. Normally the color is bright yellow; it extends and becomes brighter when one is focusing on the mental process or intellectual pursuits. This body contains the structures of our ideas and you can see thought forms in this layer of the aura. Thought forms appear to be blobs, that vary in brightness and form. When a thought form has an additional color infused within it, then there is an emotional attachment to that thought. The infused color is actually coming from the emotional body, but is supporting the thought itself. You can enhance thought forms in your aura by focusing on that thought. The Fourth layer of the Aura is the ‘Astral Body’. This layer is light and it is composed of clouds of color. It has a beautiful blend of pastel colors infused with a rose light of love. This layer of the aura extends six inches to one foot from the body. The Fifth layer is called the ‘Etheric Template Body’. It contains within it all of the forms that exist on the physical plane (physical, Etheric, emotional and mental). It resembles the Etheric layer, only it appears as transparent lines on a cobalt blue background like a blueprint. It extends from the body one and a half to two feet. This is the level where sound vibration create matter. Sound healing is most effective at this layer. The Sixth layer is called the ‘Celestial Body’. this is the emotional level of the spiritual plane. This body extends two to two and three-quarters feet from the body. The Celestial Body is composted of beautiful shimmering light of a range of pastel colors. The light appears to have a gold-silver shine with radiating opalescent colors, that would make ones aura at this level resemble the glow of a candles flame. It is the level where one would experience spiritual bliss. This is the layer that meditation and transformational work is performed on. The people who have expanded their consciousness high enough to reach this level are the one who know their connection to the universe and feel one with God. It is where everything can only be viewed from a perspective immersed in the light. The Seventh layer of the Aura is called the ‘Ketheric Template’ or ‘Causal Body’. This is the mental level of the spiritual plane. It extends about three to three and a half feet from the body. Here we can access the knowledge of the universe, the knowledge that we are one with the creator. It appears to be composed of strong thread like fibers with a shimmering, pulsating gold-silver light. This is the strongest layer of the aura, as it holds all the other layers of the aura within it. It’s shape is that of an egg, and if you can think of the durability of an egg you can just imagine the strength of the Causal Body. Within this layer you will find the main power current that nourishes the whole body. You will also find past life bands all over this layer. The past life band that is located near the head and neck is the past life that you are currently working with in this incarnation. The Eight and Ninth layers of the aura are known as the ‘Cosmic Plane’. They are associated with the 8th and 9th Chakra's that are found above the head outside the physical body. Each layer has a very high vibration and they follow the patterns of alternating between substance (8th) and form (9th). The 8th layer is more a fluid type constancy where the 9th is more crystalline. Keep in mind that there are connections between each layer within the Aura and our Chakra's. Although the Chakra's reach every layer in the aura, there is a significance with the number of the Chakra and the layer of the aura. Nancy Arruda
