Pyrite
Anyone who works with Gemstones, on a professional or personal level, should have Pyrite found within their collection. Personally I have found that it is one of the best stones for transmuting or neutralizing ‘negative’ or less desirable energy. Pyrite is also known as ‘fools gold’. If you think in the times of the Gold rush, pyrite may have seemed to be the disappointment to many harvesters. If they thought it was gold, they would have discovered their dreams becoming disillusioned. However; it was not a disillusioned stone or mineral at all, for it allowed one to tap into the truth during that time, and in this case the Truth was not gold. There are different types of pyrite. Some have more of a granular look and feel while others have more of a chunky cubic look and feel (See Images for visual). According to the difference in look and feel it will give the rock itself different principle properties of masculine or feminine. (Reference: “Love is in the Earth – Kaleidoscope pictorial – Supplement A” by Melody ISBN:0-9628190-7-7, 1997). In this above mentioned book, Melody refers to them as “ISIS & ORISIS”, “One with a druse and one with the larger cubic configuration. It should be noted that some single specimens combine both the druse and larger cubic configurations into one stone.” It is my understanding that the ‘druse’ implies the granular configurations that I speak of. Pyrite in general, has the ability to strengthen the properties within the Auric field. While in a person’s possession, the pyrite allows for a ‘shield’ around the aura so that it will reflect negative vibrations away from the aura. However, when using to clear your energetic space, the pyrite will open it’s windows of reflection and allow the negative flow of energy to go within it during which it transmutes the energy into a more positive reflection as it redirects it back out of it’s centre. It is a great stone to use in balancing the mental, emotional and physical bodies found within the aura as well. When it is focused upon specific Chakra centres aids in reducing and resolving problems in a solution focused way. It is known to work well on all the Chakra’s and allows for higher healing within them, but it especially works well on the Navel (orange) and Throat (blue) Chakra’s. Pyrite is known for developing qualities such as expansiveness, creativity and awareness within our claircognizance (clear knowing) abilities. It allows a regeneration to occur with our internal and external power, which allows for integration of the “Whole Being”. On a physical level, when using pyrite to heal the body, it works best when intended for tissue regeneration or promoting healing within degenerative disorders. It can be used to treat bronchial problems and be used as a remedy for lung infections. On a mental and emotional level, pyrite can be used to promote healing within the mental layers of the aura and the Solar Plexus Chakra, as well as the emotional body and the Navel or Sacral Chakra. It will aid in the removal of mental blocks or allow a calming of the mind for overactive thought patterns as well as reduce anxiety (which is produced by a blending of emotional and mental energies). Pyrite is known to work with all the astrological signs; however it is to be more effective when using with the qualities of Aquarius, Leo and Scorpio. Pyrite vibrates to the numbers 55 and 4-four.
